Terms of Service
Effective date: October 25, 2026 · Last updated: October 25, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of dunesjunk.com and to the junk removal, donation pickup, and storage hauling services provided by Dunes Junk Removal (“Dunes Junk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a local business run by high schoolers Ollie Pearce and Carson Guyton. By requesting a quote, booking a job, or texting with us, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Our services
We offer:
- Junk removal — furniture, appliances, garage and estate cleanouts, and yard debris, disposed of or donated
- Donation pickup — we take your usable items to a charity for you
- Deliver to storage — we load at your place and move items into your storage unit
- Pick up from storage — we move items out of a storage unit to your home, a new place, or disposal
We may decline any job that we believe is unsafe, outside our area, or beyond what we can handle.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are free. We base each quote on the information and photos you give us. We confirm the price with you before we start work. If the items, amount, access, or location turn out to be materially different from what was described, we will tell you and agree on an updated price before continuing; you can decline and pay nothing for work not started. Payment is due when the job is complete unless we agree otherwise. We accept cash, check, or Venmo. Any disposal, dump, or facility fees will be included in or added to your quote and explained up front.
Scheduling and cancellation
We will agree on a date and time window with you. Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule; reply to our texts or contact us. We may need to reschedule because of weather, safety, vehicle issues, or other circumstances beyond our control, and we will let you know as soon as possible. You are responsible for making sure we have access to the items (and to your storage facility, if applicable) at the scheduled time.
Your responsibilities
- You confirm that you own the items or have the right to have them removed, donated, or moved.
- Remove valuables, personal documents, and anything you want to keep from items we are hauling away. Items we haul for disposal or donation cannot be returned.
- Tell us about anything heavy, fragile, or tricky (stairs, tight spaces, parking or HOA rules) before the job.
- Follow your storage facility’s rules and give us any access codes or permissions needed.
Donate first, then dispose
When items are in usable condition, we try to take them to local donation centers first. Charities make their own decisions about what they accept, so we cannot guarantee any item will be accepted. Items that cannot be donated are recycled or disposed of responsibly at appropriate facilities. We do not provide tax receipts for donations unless the charity issues one.
Items we don’t accept
For safety and legal reasons we do not handle hazardous or regulated materials, including (but not limited to) chemicals, paint and solvents, fuel and propane tanks, oil, asbestos, medical waste, ammunition or explosives, and anything leaking, contaminated, or otherwise unsafe to transport. We may also decline items that are too heavy or dangerous for us to move safely. If we find such items, we will leave them in place.
SMS / Text Messaging Terms
Dunes Junk Removal uses text messaging to communicate with customers about their quotes and jobs and, for customers who opt in separately, to share occasional promotions.
How you opt in
Texting is optional. Our quote form at dunesjunk.com has two separate, optional, unchecked boxes:
- Customer care texts: “I agree to receive SMS text messages from Dunes Junk Removal, such as appointment confirmations, reminders, and updates about my inquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
- Marketing texts: “I agree to receive occasional promotional and marketing text messages from Dunes Junk Removal. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
You opt in to a type of text only by checking its box and submitting the form, or by texting us first and asking us to reply by text (customer care texts only). Submitting the form without checking a texting box does not sign you up for texts. A separate required box asks you to accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy; accepting it is not consent to receive text messages.
Program details
Dunes Junk Removal (program name: Dunes Junk Removal) sends two kinds of text messages. Each one has its own separate, optional, unchecked consent checkbox on our quote form, and you can choose either, both, or neither:
- Customer care and service texts (first checkbox): appointment confirmations, reminders, scheduling and rescheduling, quote follow-ups, arrival updates, and updates about your inquiry.
- Promotional and marketing texts (second checkbox): occasional offers, seasonal reminders, and news about Dunes Junk Removal services. We send these only if you check the marketing box.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe; you will get one confirmation text and no further messages. Reply HELP for help.
- Consent to receive texts of either kind is not a condition of purchase or of getting a quote. Leaving both boxes unchecked does not affect your quote or service.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opting out and help
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text STOP to the number that messages you. After you send STOP, we will send you one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will no longer receive text messages from us. STOP unsubscribes you from all Dunes Junk Removal texts. If you want to join again, text START or submit a new request and check the box for the texts you want. If you have trouble with the program, reply HELP or email us at dunesjunkremoval@gmail.com or request a quote at dunesjunk.com.
Supported on major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Please notify us if you change or deactivate your mobile number.
Privacy
Your mobile information and SMS opt-in data are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Liability and damage
We use reasonable care when removing, loading, transporting, and placing your items, and we treat your home like it’s our neighbor’s.
Your part
- Before we arrive, remove valuables, cash, jewelry, personal documents, and anything you want to keep from the items and areas we will be clearing or hauling.
- Tell us in advance about anything fragile, unusually heavy, or of special value, and about any hazards, such as hazardous materials, broken glass, sharp objects, pests, mold, or unsafe floors or stairs.
- Make sure walkways, driveways, and access points are reasonably clear and safe.
What we are not responsible for
- Pre-existing damage or normal wear to your items or property
- Items left in or on things we haul away, or in areas you asked us to clear
- Damage caused by the condition, age, or construction of an item (for example, particleboard furniture or items already loose or broken), or by hazards or fragile items you did not tell us about
- Minor scuffs or marks that can reasonably be expected when moving large or heavy items through tight spaces
- Items once they have been accepted by a donation center, disposal facility, or recycler
Reporting damage
If you believe we damaged your property, please tell us right away — ideally before we leave — and in any case in writing within 48 hours of the completed job by emailing dunesjunkremoval@gmail.com, with photos if possible. We will look into it in good faith and work with you to make it right. Claims not reported within 48 hours may not be accepted.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by South Carolina law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service involved. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, such as lost profits, loss of use, or emotional distress. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Use of our website
Our website is provided “as is” for information and to request quotes. Please don’t misuse it, submit false information, or interfere with how it works. Logos, text, and images on the site belong to Dunes Junk Removal.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute related to these Terms or our services will be brought in the state courts located in Horry County, South Carolina, unless applicable law requires otherwise. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above shows the latest version, and the Terms in effect when you book apply to that job.
